We had an amazing time with Derek as our private tour guide while staying in Ireland. We were so lucky that he had last minute availability and though it was a long day for us (taking the train from Dublin to Galway then immediately starting the tour), it was so beyond worth it. Connemara is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The real selling point is the gorgeous country and the incredible tour guide. Derek provided us with an exceptional tour of Inishmor and a little bit of Connemara. He perfectly gauged what kind of information we wanted to hear (historical and cultural) and how much of it (quite a lot). There seemed no end to his knowledge! When we wanted simply to enjoy the scenery, he left us in peace. His advance communication was clear and reliable. He recommended great places to hear traditional music in Galway and even offered to swing by the grocery store on the way back to our AirBnB.

Derek was a wonderful guide for our day spent exploring Connemara! We learned so much about Ireland and Irish history! Kylemore was beautiful as well were the mountains and lakes. We loved the sheep dog demo and lunch with local mussels! We had a great day exploring Connemara with Derek as our knowledgeable guide. He was accommodating for our requests and made sure we were able to see everything on our list. Two of the highlights for us were a visit to the Quiet Man Bridge and a sheep farm deep in the hills. The sheep dogs (and puppies) were amazing. Lunch in a local pub was delicious. Derek was a wonderful guide. He made us feel very comfortable and he was extremely knowledgeable - he could answer any questions we had - whether history, geology, language, traditions, Irish mythology and even folktales. We toured a number of towns in the Burren, spent a good amount of time at the Cliffs of Mohr and stopped at several scenic and out of the way spots. Highly recommend!
